Wind Energy Project Register Interest

The Pen y Cymoedd Wind Energy Project is a 76 turbine development in Neath Port Talbot and Rhondda Cynon Taf , developed by Vattenfall.

Vattenfall is a leading European energy company. It is Europe's sixth largest generator of electricity and the continent's largest  producer of heat. Following the integration of Nuon Renewables in early 2012, it is now one of the UK’s leading wind farm developers.

This project is also part of the Natural Resources Wales Wind Energy Programme, which is working towards achieving the Welsh Government Renewable Energy target.

The team working on the project is committed to developing a sustainable energy project the delivers economic, environmental and social benefit to the region.

Current Status

Tree clearance work has now begun onsite and will continue until we commence construction in 2014. Site investigation works onsite are ongoing as well as work on the new mountain bike trail, which will be built before construction works commence.
