Food processors in Swansea Bay enjoy significant advantages. There is an abundance of fresh, high-quality produce available on the doorstep: Welsh Black beef, milk from prize dairy herds, fish from river and sea, vegetables from the area's rich arable lands, plus a large number of organic and specialist suppliers.

Cross Hands West is a dedicated 50-acre [need hectares] food park two minutes from the M4 on the Euro Route between Ireland and London. This strategic cluster of food processing, packaging and transport companies includes Irish giants Dawnpac.

A new strategic initiative, the Processing and Marketing Grant Scheme, can provide capital and revenue grants of 40% on project investments from £40,000 to £3,000,000. Regional Selective Assistance Grants of 47 % for SMEs, 35% for non-SMEs are the highest in Europe.

Swansea Bay Partnership exhibit at the major food fairs, providing food producers and processors with the opportunity to pitch to key buyers from the supermarket chains and from high value outlets such as Harrods and Fortnum & Mason.
